Frequently Asked Questions
-
Yes. The first step in determining whether Nourished Beginnings can provide you with the help and intervention you are looking for is to schedule a free phone consultation.
After discussing your concerns and what you are looking for, we can talk about next steps, such as scheduling a full, comprehensive in-home evaluation and what ongoing services would look like.
-
At Nourished Beginnings, we pride ourselves on focusing on the youngest of children, infants through age three, with mild to severe and significant feeding delays.
By keeping our focus honed in on that specific population, it allows us to focus our time and resources on ways to not only better help you and your child, but also other families who are going through similar experiences.

Vanessa pulls from her experiences and knowledge of a variety of approaches, being an early intervention clinician, as well as being a mother herself.
She leans into approaches based on Responsive Feeding and cue-based feeding, which not only help with building parent/caregiver confidence but also help with child autonomy as well. Vanessa is also certified in the SOFFI (Supporting Oral Feeding in Fragile Infants) method of assessment and treatment of disordered feeding, which is also based on infant-led feeding.
Communication is at the core of all interactions, and helping parents and caregivers learn how to understand what their baby is communicating to them, even before they have words, in order to drive engaged and enjoyable feeding experiences and to avoid stress and aversions associated with feeding is one of the biggest goals we aim to achieve.

Consistency of services is paramount to successful outcomes.
Avoiding cancellations is preferred, and make-up sessions are not always possible.
While we understand that unforeseen circumstances can and do happen, we ask that you provide at least a 24-hours’ notice if you need to cancel a session to avoid any cancellation fees.
-
Services are billed via text or email link with your appointment reminder before the session.
-
We accept ACH/e-check or credit/debit card payments. A credit card is kept on file for each client in the event of a missed appointment, partial payment, or a canceled (less than 24 hours’ notice)/no-show session.
-
Yes. Nourished Beginnings offers a variety of service delivery options, including different packages, as well as membership rates. Schedule your free phone consultation to learn more about our services and pricing options.
-
No. Both of those services are already included in the session fees.
-
Yes, an evaluation is required before starting feeding therapy.
Understanding a child's medical and developmental history, as well as current level of functioning, will provide the most relevant information needed to create your child's unique treatment plan.
If an evaluation has been completed elsewhere (clinic, hospital, private provider, etc.) within the last three months, a screening MAY be justified and recommended in lieu of an evaluation.
Scheduling your free phone consultation is the best way to determine whether an evaluation or screening is most appropriate.
